
Patrick Dorgan graduated from University College Cork with a B.C.L. degree in 1976, qualified as a solicitor in 1982, and was admitted as a Partner in the firm in 1987. He was appointed Managing Partner in 2003.
Patrick is a leading authority on domestic and commercial Conveyancing law and practice, and is a current member of and former Chairman of the Conveyancing Committee of the Law Society. He is a lecturer in Conveyancing in the Law Society’s Law School and regularly speaks at seminars on property law and practice.
He is closely involved with professional matters and is a past President of the Southern Law Association, a current Council member of the Law Society and is the current Vice Chairman of the e-conveyancing Task Force of the Law Society which is overseeing the proposed transition to electronic conveyancing over the next few years. He has written many articles in professional and other journals, and is interviewed regularly on national radio and television in relation to conveyancing and related consumer matters. He acts for many significant private clients and the owners and developers of several shopping centres and other commercial developments.
He also is the solicitor for Cork’s leading golf and yacht clubs as well as a director of the Solicitors Mutual Defense Fund Ltd.
